I have a HP Photosmart C4480 Printer and I want to know the cheapest way to get ink for the Printer. It takes the 350 and 351 cartridges, I have no clue whether the cheapest way is to buy them from a specific website or to get them refilled somewhere (if that%26#039;s possible. If anyone has an idea of the cheapest way to get new ink then please let me know. Links to websites/companies would be much appreciated.|||Hi, I would suggest you still go for genuine ink if you are after quality and even print yield. There%26#039;s an independent study (commissioned by HP) that came out. Results of this study showed original HP inks yield 2.4x more prints than refills. See link (1) below.
Also, if you are into high-volume printing, go for HP%26#039;s value ink cartridges (multi-packs and XL)---you%26#039;ll get to enjoy lower cost/page this way. See link (2) below.

They all offer some 70% off, sth free, I wonder is it possible or the next scam- are those refilled packages, refurbished or renewed...?|||It is always cheaper to refill, however you cartridges have to be printing perfectly in order to get a decent result from a refill. You will also need to run regular print head cleanings to ensure you maintain quality.
The only licensed Dell dealer is Dell. The cartridges you get from the third party site will most likely be re-manufactured, which is a fancy word for refilled.
I agree with the previous answer of for the cost of replacing the cartridges, which you will have to do eventually as you will be luck to get 2 or 3 refills out of a Dell cartridge replace the printer with one whose inks are readily available. Try to avoid Lexmark and Dell printers in the future.|||Cheaper, but not worth it. Buy new ones. Or better yet, toss the Dell and get one with Ink you can get anywhere.

What is cheaper: Copy shop vs. buying Ink cartridge?
printing at Copymax ($1.29 per color page) or buying a color/b%26amp;W cartridge.|||I%26#039;ve often thought about it. Hewlett Packard is a big name company ... The ink cartridges are sold in many stores.
Walmart carries HP products, so does Staples, Costco and Office Depot. Walgreen%26#039;s will sometimes refill ink cartridges (that would be the least expensive solution).
Most of the stores charge about the same prices, but there are sometimes generic ink cartridges that cost less.

Why do people continue to use printers that use ink cartridges, when a laser printer is cheaper.?
I can understand why they would for photos, but I don%26#039;t think they are good if you just need to print out something and color doesn%26#039;t matter. I used to have a Ink jet printer and I was going though Ink every three months. I tried to use the refill kits, but they were not the same quality as the name brand ink cartridges. I bought a laser printer a year ago, and its still on the original cartridge. The laser printer prints out about 1,000 pages before it runs out of Toner. I havn%26#039;t even had to buy any toner cartridges, since I gotten the laser printer. The Toner cartridges that you buy at the store print out about 3,000-5,000 pages depending on what toner cartridge you buy. People say they are really expensive, usually $100-$150 a Toner cartridge, I would have already spent this much this year if I still had the ink jet printer. I can%26#039;t imagine how much I would save if I bought a Toner that I saw at the store that prints $5000 pages for $135. Laser printers are also not the expensive.|||If you print that much at all, that is.
For someone who prints just a few pages a day, inkjets make a lot of sense. Lower initial investments and all that.
A couple more things: inkjets use little power if any. Laser printer needs a lot of power for the fuser, and even the %26quot;instant-on%26quot; fusers need a few seconds to warm up.
Also, research in Australia shows that laser printers emits microparticles that MAY have health effects. Not to mention ozone. No emissions from an inkjet.

Is it cheaper to buy a new ink cartridge or get yours refilled?
Refilling cartridges is cheaper, but people often have problems with nozzle clogging, so be careful with that. If you clog the nozzles, the cleaning utility that usually comes with a printer does not always fix it, so you%26#039;ll end up spending more money to get it fixed. In the end, buying original cartridges (not even compatibles) will cost you less, not only because of the above reasons, but you will also get consistant results with original cartridges and won%26#039;t have to print the same thing over and over to get the colors right.|||it%26#039;s usually cheaper to get it refilled or else look on ebay for compatible catridges.|||You can get it refilled but they never seem to have the color a branded cartridge has. Where to look for cheapest lexmark original ink cartridge for printer.?
Ebay.|||Do not buy from eBay. Cartridge have an expiration date. They only have a shelf life of about 14months from date of manufacture. They can also be improperly stored, counterfeit or defective units somebody is looking to off load.
After a cartridge expires the electronics malfunction, ink will leak and the cartridge will be useless.
Look out for factory clearance places like Costco, Sam%26#039;s club or tiger direct. they often have great prices on consumables. They will be your lowest price.|||With current original Lexmark cartridges, the prices you find at the major stores will be with in $5 of every where else.
I am always worried about EBay for OEM cartridges since they do have an expiration date, that most people do not realize/notice.|||there are a good amount of ebay stores that provide this service and they can be average 10-25 dollars (which is at least half the normal price)
you can always refill your own ink, you can buy refill kits with large amounts of ink. it doesnt last as long because the ink dries quicker after you breach the cartridge but you get massive amounts of ink in contrast.
search lexmark ink refill in ebay. you get CMYK (blue/red/yellow/black) colors for about 20 dollars for 16oz black and 8oz others. not bad i think. they come with needles to inject the ink.
i use refills because i am poor. ;)

Why is it that you go to buy new ink cartridges for your printer and it is cheaper just to buy a new printer?
It%26#039;s because of the collusion between the manufacturers. In a truly capitalist society, this wouldn%26#039;t happen. They wouldn%26#039;t be allowed to sole-source the consumables. Unfortunately, our government is owned by multinational corporations, so laws are either written in favor of the coporations or they%26#039;re ignored.|||I service many types of printers and have a lot of experience in this area. Is it cheaper to print in gray scale or with both ink cartridges?
I%26#039;m printing about one hundred letters a month with black ink, and I%26#039;m not sure if it makes a difference or not to print in gray scale since it%26#039;s black anyway. I need to know the cheapest way to do this with a printer that has ink cartridges. Thanks so much!!! :)|||Since you are printing black and white only, it will not affect your printing drastically if you set it to grayscale.
Basically, what you are saving is a little color ink which is used to underprint some of the black text. The savings may not be very significant though.
If you are printing alot of black and white documents, in the long run you might consider getting a black and white laser printer. You can get a branded one for about $65 and you wont be wasting any color (because there is none) and the cost per page is lower as well. Even though the cost of the cartridge may be higher than an inkjet cartridge, you will get a lot more pages out, so it works out well.|||seek intervention|||ok lets look at this .. how much does a new cartridge cost ?? compare that cost to goin to local copy place to get the same number of copies assuming these are all the same letter . does it cost less to print one, and copy it 99 times ?? probably so , i would go that route personally , now if these are all different letters goin out , then probably not goin to get cheaper this way .|||Print in gray. Why is it cheaper to buy a new printer rather than replace the ink cartridges?
Look my printer ran out of ink... So I go to the store looking to get replacement cartridges...no biggie right????
$50.00 for the three color pack...
Another $24 for the black...
I ended up spending $62.00 for a new printer as the cheaper alternative! I never was in love with my old printer...but that just seems crazy and a major waste!!!
|||Because this is how certain printer manufacturers make money off of you. They sell the printer cheap, knowing that when you run out of ink, you will have to buy thier ink to replace it at a higher cost.
But you don%26#039;t have to pay those big chain store prices. Find a good supplier in your area that provides new compatible ink and toner. You will get it at a lower cost to you. Hi, just wondedering if anyone knows where the best place is (or cheapest) to get ink cartridges from?
To be honest INK Cartridges will cost around the same anywhere either its online or in a store. THe only way for you getting it cheaper is if you buy ALOT of them from a site (www.tigerdirect.com) because tigerdirect charges you no tax and if you buy 100 dollars worth of ink cartriges the shipping is $1.99, and if you buy it from Staples, Office Depot or Frys Electronics they would tax your purchase.|||Hi Adam, don%26#039;t know if you went with other options on here but i have been using ink and media LTD now for a good couple of years, never been let down, always delivered on time...

Where is the cheapest place to buy deskjet ink cartridges?
any with free shipping?|||I have an HP deskjet and I fill it from little bottles of ink I buy.
If you are in the UK go to Argos and buythese two

676/7691
They are black ink and coloured ink complete with little hypodermic siringes and you can fill most cartridges.
Will save you a fortune.|||yeah... if you don%26#039;t mind doing some work...

Dollar for dollar - a refill kit is the way to go.|||There are places that sell cartridges to save you money and then there are ones that save you some money but offer a better service.
if you want to save money, look on Ebay. If you would like to save a little less money but have a better service and guarantee on the products look at your local refilling shop, or search the web for your cartridges. I know of some sites that offer free shipping, but due to conflict of interest, can not recommend any.

I am thinking of getting a printer/scanner combined. what make has the cheapest replacement ink cartridges?
lexmark, well it%26#039;s not too cheap but it does it all|||I recently got a brother, had lexmark for years, was paying over $70.00 for a replacement of each and it never lasted long, now with the brother, not only does the ink last, and last, but can buy 9-10 cartridges on ebay for around $25.00 S%26amp;H included, huge savings.|||I can%26#039;t tell you which make has the cheapest replacements, however I can tell you that Epson printers drink ink like a vampire drinks blood (VERY FAST).
I have an Epson all in one CX3600 and have regretted it since the day i bought it. I replaced the colours 6 months ago and they are empty already - I have done NO COLOUR PRINTING - I simply keep the colours there so I can clean the ink head when it becomes clogged. You see Epson have fixed their printers to that you cannot clean the ink head without all the inks being in there - thus when colours run out, you cannot clean it just to rectify black printing not being clear.
While the generic replacements are about 拢5 each (a lot if your unemployed like me) they are a lot cheaper than Epsons own inks.
Personally, I would use a HP printer like a deskjet 720. The colours in those last over a year and have a seperate ink head so you can still clean the black ink head if the colours are empty. Admittedly I have a Deskjet 930C from a boot sale here which I%26#039;ve not tested so I%26#039;ve probably shot myself in the foot continuing to use the Epson all in one.
I would personally recommend a HP all in one or a Cannon all in one. Before I got my Epson (Never again) I wanted to get the Cannon MP360. On ebuyer.com it had 22 5 star reviews making it one of the best ranking printers they had for sale at the time. There have been newer models since the MP360 so I would recommend something in that range to be honest. I don%26#039;t know about ink costs though.
My final word of warning: Avoid Epson at all costs - Or they will take your money for replacement ink and cost you!
EDIT: I have just looked on ebay (after reading the other replies above mine) and they do indeed have cheap compatible replacement cartridges for my printer. The chances are they will also have cheap compatibles for whatever you buy too. Either way I still do not recommend Epson (no matter how cheap the replacements are) purely for the speed at which they can empty ink cartridges.

Cheap printer with cheap cartridges?im paying too much for ink?
Unfortunately that%26#039;s how printing companies catch you these days, making their printer prices unusually cheap and reeling it in with the cartridges.
Your best bet is to buy a cheap printer and one of the following options:
1. Visit http://www.refreshcartridges.co.uk/
2. Buy a refill kit and fill them yourself (be very careful of mixing colours)
3. See if you can grab some on eBay.
If you have an inkjet printer this shouldn%26#039;t be a problem, however if you have a laserjet printer already (these aren%26#039;t too cheap, but offer better print quality) then you must buy a toner cartridge, and unfortunately these also come at a price and cannot be refilled.

Lexmark 8350 is what i have i can use 32,33,34,amd35|||You might be surprised to find it cheaper to buy a new printer than to get ink for a Dell or Lexmark. They are the drug dealers of the printer industry, giving away their printers cheap to rip you off on the ink.
I recommend Epson cx series scanner/copier/printer (cx7400/cx8400) because of the print quality and the warranty. For a year Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. Ink cartridges are expensive, but you can get cheap replacements for $5 which work well here http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp
You can find the printers at buy.com, usually in the $60-$70 range BEFORE any rebates, if applicable.

What is the cheapest brand of ink jet printer to maintain, speaking of the cost of ink cartridges?
None of them are inexpensive. If you can do without the color, go with a laser printer. They are also much more reliable. I have two HP laser jets and one Epson inkjet. What printers easily bought (including all in ones) use cheap (without print heads) separate ink cartridges?
I am in the market for a new printer, but don%26#039;t want a printer that has $30 ink cartridges. I want an all in one that uses cheap generically available cartridges. I saw the mp760 uses cartridges available generically for about $2.80 each, but that printer is not available anymore. For my and other people%26#039;s benefit, how about a list of all currently available printers that use cheap ink cartridges, usually meaning that the ink cartridges are separate (5 tanks) and don%26#039;t have built in print heads.|||HP Photosmart C5280 scored a 82 out of 100 in PC World review. It uses common 74 and 75 cartridges which are 14 and 17 dollars respectively for the OEM%26#039;s. Refill kits are super cheap for these model inks.

Canon%26#039;s Pixma MP and MX line also have the individual tanks, however, the printheads are harder to come by. But they do a great quality job.|||Try ebay or google a computer fair near you. Is there a high quality printer that has very cheap ink cartridge costs (without refilling)?
I want to know if there is a printer that can satisfy these criteria:
Less than 200 dollars
Color ink cartridges are separated
Cost for all 3 color cartridges is less than 17 dollars [compatable non-oem cartridges are allowed] (without refilling)
Page per minute color is greater than 8
Page per minute black is greater than 12
Print quality is looks decent

It looks like Cannon might have a printer series with low-cost inks... There should be no reason why an ink cartridge should cost 45 dollars (cough hp cough) --
Does anyone have any ideas?|||Hands down HP Laser Jet printers are the best! We own and only use HP Laserjet printers and have 4 at home. First one HP Laserjet 4M my coworker convinced me to buy more than 10 years ago costs me $1500 but we still use it regularly and it has outlasted several desktop PCs. We also bought a HP Lasejet 5N and someone actually gave me a multifunction HP Laserjet 3330 but truly the nicest one I bought used/recertified from an authorized HP repair source is our HP Color Laserjet 4550. The color quality is absolutely fabulous and if you print on expensive HP brochure or HP matte paper, it is stunning in the hands of the recipient!

Also FYI it uses four separate toners: Magneta, Cyan, Yellow and Black. I wrote an article a few months before Christmas about how Kodak was going to turn the market on it%26#039;s ear with it%26#039;s new ink cartridge pricing structure.
Companies like HP, Lexmark, Canon and Epson have for too long gouged the consumers on the cost of cartridge replacements knowing full well the technology existed to refill these cartridges for a very minimal cost.
Since Kodak had been losing ground somewhat in the digital printing market, there approach was to offer there printers at a very slight higher price and then offer the consumer fair market value on the replacement cartridges.
This is exactly why you see companies like Lexmark especially, offering $35-$60 printers which even there competition can%26#039;t compete with.
Once Lexmark has you locked in as there customer, you then pay through the nose (and I mean literally) for any Lexmark replacement cartridges.
Your alternative for now? Do a location search for www.cartridgeworldusa.com
I%26#039;ve used there service for many years and it%26#039;s top notch service. They take older cartridges on replacement and offer you remanufactured carts for almost 30% less than retail that are 100% guaranteed.
I%26#039;ve tried the route of using those commercially marketed ink kits and they do ok for one or two refills but then your printhead nozzles become clogged and despite using the boiling water method, you wind up wasting more ink than your saving.
Check out that website I gave you and ask them for a price quote. As I said, the products are 100% guaranteed and they actually fill up the cartridge unlike the manufacturers who leave quite a lot of ink out of whats suppose to be in the cartridges.|||I don%26#039;t know how much you are paying, but here is where I%26#039;ve been getting my Canon compatible cartridges.
Mine work just like original ones, for a lot less $.

There are a ton of different types of ink these days so bringing them to a refill place that just has one type of ink for every cartridge probably isn%26#039;t going to work that well. If you have an older cartridge, especially a black one, you might be able to get away with bringing them to a refill place since the ink would have a pretty basic formula.|||This one seems quite cheap to me, actually I havent seen cheaper so far even walmart:)

If you are looking for cheap ink cartridges, make sure that they are new and not refills. You don%26#039;t save any money with the refills because they don%26#039;t work half the time.|||I order all my ink from http://123inkjets.com They normally offer free shipping and such as well.. Which are athe best and cheapest ink cartridges?
Laser printers. They yield so much more for the ink (which is toner) for the buck. The text is super crisp, just like in a magazine. And last much longer. Pages print super fast. There isn%26#039;t any %26quot;printing alignment%26quot; that you have to do. You just put the toner cartridge in and you%26#039;re good to go. They%26#039;re so much better and easier on your wallet in the end. Think about it: four cartridges at about 30 bucks is 120 bucks. Maybe around 40 pages each is about 160 pages. A toner cartridge with even just low yield is around 80 bucks average, with around 2000 to 5000 pages yield.
No messy ink cartridges. And many of them you can exchange with companies that will sell you %26quot;refilled%26quot; toners at a cheaper cost.
You can get a black and white laser printer for around a hundred bucks now, and color for around 300.|||ezinkjet.com|||The best would be the one recommended in your printer manual. The cheapest would be the off brands. It would probably be hard to find both qualities in one cartridge|||ebay|||I tend to not trust the %26quot;unheard of%26quot; sites that are only geared towards ink jet cartridges.
I%26#039;ve had great experiences so far with amazon.com if they carry my specific type of cartridge. This is always good if you are buying a good quantity of cartrdiges or other items as well (total over $25) and often times they offer free shipping.
If your cartridge type is more of a generic brand (Epson, HP, Canon) then your local Costco has the better deal.

This saves a lot. You mix the powder with water making a solution, and the kit comes with a syringe that enables you to fill the old cartridge. New printer cheaper than ink cartridges?
My dad says it%26#039;s cheaper to buy a new printer that comes with ink, than it is to refill ink cartridges.
Is this generally true? If not, what are some other options?
Also where can you properly dispose/recycle empty cartridges?|||Partially true. Many new printers come with cartridges that are really just %26quot;starter%26quot; cartridges -- in other words they contain less ink than normal.
If you are looking to cut your printing costs consider compatible or remanufactured ink cartridges. This article does a good job addressing the differences: http://www.castleink.com/_a-compatible-i鈥?/a>
Additionally to help fund the purchase of your replacement cartridges consider selling your empty ink cartridges. There are many programs that I%26#039;ve come across online that will pay up to $4 per cartridge. One recycling program that pays for empty cartridges can be found here: http://www.castleink.com/_recycle-ink-ca鈥?/a>|||Sometimes a new printer is cheaper than the cartridges. Beware, however, that often the cartridges that come with a new printer are sample cartridges that hold less ink than replacement cartridges. If you are looking for cheap ink, you can find cartridges and toner for about half price at http://www.inksmile.com . (Please use referral number 164383 if you purchase.) For recycling, the web site http://www.empties4cash.com has a good recycling/disposal program.|||If you get a cheap printer (which will work perfect for printing text and relatively low quality pictures) than yes, it is generally cheaper to buy a printer every time you run out of ink. some printers are as low as 20$ while the ink to replace them can be as high as 80$, biggest issue is that it causes a lot of garbage. and if you pring your empty cartridges to any place that sells ink they should have a disposal for it.|||Not true. http://www.cartridgeworldusa.com/ This is where I work and we save people ton%26#039;s of money everyday. We also have recycling programs. No matter store you go to they are 100% guaranteed.

What is a good cheap place to buy ink cartridges for printers?
The best is e-bay!!! that is the cheapest, and we have done that several times.|||depending on how much you spend for the printer, online is the best independent sites though, after market crap is always cheaper, if you didnt pay much for the printer go buy another one.|||A Good place is Sam%26#039;s Club you have to have a membership but that seems to be the best deal I have found.|||If you have an HP printer, buying the ink directly from hpshopping.com is cheaper than buying it in stores, and they give free next-day shipping on ink, toner, etc.
For example, black ink for my printer costs around $17 on HP%26#039;s website, when normally in stores it costs around $30. The free shipping is a great plus, too.
