I want to buy my son a cheap new printer that has ink cartridges that can be easily re-filled.?

The print quality doesn%26#039;t have to be top notch. Other features like scanner or card reader are not important, but if its got them then fine.

He will waste a lot of ink so cheap re-filling is the key. Thanks for any input.|||Epson has the best warranty in the industry. For a year they will fedex you a replacement and pick up the old one.

Refilling cartridges is the best way to kill a printer. Read http://www.ccs-digital.com/refills.asp for details. However, there is an alternative for Epson printers - cartridges where the ink is in a separate tank inside the main cartridge. When the ink runs out, you pop out the tank and plug in a new one. the chip resets to full and you%26#039;re good to go. On top of that, they hold triple the ink of standard cartridges and cost less than $3. best of all, you get 11 free every month with no clubs to join and no rebates. read http://www.ccs-digital.com/freeink.asp for details

This is what I consider the best deal right now for a scanner/copier/printer/fax with auto document feeder

The cartridge should have a hole in it, and the refill should cost like $5.00 . Go to a store that sells printers and ask them about it.

If your sons going to use ink, don%26#039;t get a laser printer, the cartridge would cost more than the printer itself.|||No printer manufacturer recommends refilling. It stops the printer detecting how much ink remains and could possibly also damage the printer|||www.epson.com for the printer. Then Get a CISS for your printer.
